Polarity

I’ve grown up going to church every week.
No one ever tried to stop me.
No one ever told me that I couldn’t go because worshipping anyone aside from the national god is illegal.

Sunday was the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. I have been in prayer for my brothers and sisters world wide who live in fear for their lives, just because they know that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and they live in light of this. An association with any religion will not save you . Governments in 51 countries will tell you that it will.

Governments in 51 countries will tell you who to worship, how to worship, and when to worship. And they are preaching doctrine that results in eternal damnation.

Persecution of Christians happens everyday, at a rate that is alarming. Thousands of Christians are killed everyday because they refuse to deny Christ.

They risk everything, homes, family, security, their lives, just so they canhonor God in everything that they do.

WHY DON’T I??????

When I lie to my parents about how long I studied for my math test, when I speak shortly with Al and Ethan, when I don’t help someone in need because it isn’t convenient for me, I am denying Christ and the power of His resurrection with my action.

Thousands of people are killed every year because they refuse to deny Christ. They die so they don’t have to deny Christ. And sheer inconveniece stops me?

I’ve grown up going to school everyday.
No one ever tried to stop me.
No one ever told me that I couldn’t go because I had to work.

All around the world, girls can’t go to school because they have to work to support their families. Or, they are afraid to go, afraid of being kidnapped on the way and sold to a brothel and into a life of exploitation and human trafficking.

I used to be afraid of being picked last for Kick Ball at recess.

School and church and medical attention and education are guarantees in my world. When I don’t feel good, I go and grab a cough drop or some Advil and don’t think twice about it. These are expected, but in many parts of the world, medicine, school, and safety and security are unattainable luxuries.

I need to live in light of my Savior and his Resurrection.

And Jesus told them, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. NO ONE comes to the Father expect through me.”
~John 16:6
I stand accused, there’s a list a mile long.
Of all my sins, of everything that I’ve done wrong.
I’m so ashamed, there’s nowhere left for me to hide.
This is the day, I must answer for my life.
My fate is in the Judges hands,
But then he turns to me and says
I know you, I love you
I gave my life, to save you
Love paid the price for mercy
My verdict, not guilty
How can it be, I cannot begin to comprehend
What kind of Grace would take the place for all my sins?
I stand in awe, now that I have been set free
nd the tears well up, as I look at that Cross
‘Cause it should’ve been me
My fate was in the nail scarred hands,
He stretched them out for me and said…
I know you, I love you
I gave my life, to save you
Love paid the price, for Mercy
My verdict, not guilty
I’m falling on my knees to thank You.
With everything I am, I praise You.
So grateful for the words I heard you say
.

I know you, I love you
I gave my life…
I know you, I love you
I gave my life, just to save you
Love paid the price, for Mercy
My verdict is, not guilty
Love paid the price, for Mercy
My verdict, not guilty … not guilty
~Mandisa

I have truly been declared not Guilty. I have been throughly and abundantly blessed. I take for granted things that all over the world, people can’t even begin to imagine. School, bandaids, the ability to go to church without  fear of arrest or go to the park without fear of abduction and a life of slavery . . . .

I have been bought with the precious blood of the Lamb, and I had to do nothing but accept it.
This Holiday season, please join me in praying for Leanis, a young girl I sponsor through World Vision, and the thousands like her. Pray that they will come to know Jesus as their Savior, and that they will know His awesome power. And that they will know the blessings that I do. And that we live Crazy, in light of the blessings we have received.
