Love Song

The Soundtrack of my Love Life

Those were my nails
That was my crown
That pierced Your hands and Your brow
Those were my thorns
Those were my scorns
Those were my tears that fell down
And just as You said it would be
You did it all for me
And after You counted the cost
You took my shame, my blame
On my cross

The guy sitting next to me at lunch today said this:

You can tell I care about her by looking at my face, by looking into my eyes.
You can tell by the way I act, around her and otherwise.

I want people to be able to see the love of my life reflected in my face, in my countanence, my conversations, the way I choose to dress, I want to look in love.

With the God that loves me.

That loved me to the cross.

This, I will never be able to fully grasp, or really, ever begin to fathom.

They say love is blind. But HE IS NOT. From the foundation of the world, he saw clearly, who we are, what we are, what we could never be on our own. AND HE LOVED US STILL.

LOVED US TO THE CROSS.

That the Creator God, the one that put the stars into place, the one that made the Nile run north, the one that made neurons and dendrites and axon terminals. . .  would come down into the world he created, and live among us.

Hold on now, got to take a deep breath.
I don’t know what to say when I look in your eyes.
You made the world before I was born,
And here I am holding you in my arms tonight.
Noel, Noel
Jesus our Emmanuel.
You’re here.
I’m holding you so near.
I’m staring into the face of my Savior,
King and Creator.
You could of left us on your own.
But your here.
I don’t know how long I’m going to have you for,
But I’ll be watching when you change the world.
Look at your hands, they’re still so small.
One day you’re going to strength them out and save us all.
Noel, Noel
God with us, Emmanuel.

He didn’t have to come. He didn’t have to spend “9 months in a mothers womb, three days in a borrowed tomb” Francesca Battistelli. But he came anyway.
He came because he loved me. A fallen, corrupt, broken, hopeless sinner. Who spit on his face, and nailed him to a cross.
How wide is Your love
That You would stretch Your arms
And go around the world
And why for me would a Savior’s cry be heard
I don’t know
Why You went where I was meant to go
I don’t know
Why You love me so
Those were my nails
That was my crown
That pierced Your hands and Your brow
Those were my thorns
Those were my scorns
Those were my tears that fell down
And just as You said it would be
You did it all for me
And after You counted the cost
You took my shame, my blame
On my cross
How deep is Your grace
That you could see my need
And choose to take my place
and then for me, these words I’d hear You say.
“Father no
Forgive them for they know not what they do
I will go
Because I love them so”
~FFH
How on earth could I ever be loved so much? I haven’t done anything to merit it, I was born fallen. And broken. And a sinner.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceivd me. Psalm 51:1

NOTHING I could ever do would result in my salvation. Becasue I can never be good enough.

And he knew that. He loved me regardless. And he made a way, he paid the price for me to live with him, forever.

Romans 3 (The Message)
21-24But in our time something new has been added. What Moses and the prophets witnessed to all those years has happened. The God-setting-things-right that we read about has become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for us, but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no difference between us and them in this. Since we’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.

25-26God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in him sets us in the clear. God decided on this course of action in full view of the public—to set the world in the clear with himself through the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of the sins he had so patiently endured. This is not only clear, but it’s now—this is current history! God sets things right. He also makes it possible for us to live in his rightness.

Romans 3 (NIV)
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

We were fallen. We were sinners. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one can get to Heaven on their own. It is not through works. There is no “good enough”. There never will be “good enough.” We are not “good enough.”

It is by faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved. He died, once, so we won’t have to.

I have been cleansed by the Holy blood of the lamb. I am covered in His love.

I am completly, head-over-heels, all consumed by this love. I am so in love. I want to live like it.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

“What I believe about God is the most important thing about me.” A. W. Tozer

I believe in creation. I believe that in six days, God Almighty created the Heavens and the Earth, the land, air and sea, and all the inhabitants therein.
I believe in the Bible. I believe that it is the written word of God, that it is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, and training in righteousness. I believe that it is infallible, inspired, inerrant, and authoritative. I believe that it is wholly complete, and does not need to be added to.
I believe that there is one God. That He always was, is, and always will be. I believe that he had no beginning, and that His reign will know no end. I believe in the trinity. I believe in a God head, three and one. Father, Spirit, and Son.
I believe in the deity of Christ, that Jesus is Messiah, in His virgin birth, His perfect life, His miracles, parables, and stories, his victorious and atoning death, his resurrection from the dead and victory over the grave, His ascension to Heaven and to the Right Hand of God, and I believe in His second coming.
I believe that I am a sinner saved by Grace. I believe that JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN. I believe that all who confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that He rose from the dead, will be saved, and live eternally in Heaven with Christ. I believe that those who do not know God will be subject to eternal damnation, and an eternity in Hell and punishment. I believe that God wants no one to perish, but to live forever with Him.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
My Jesus, My Savior,
Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love.
My comfort, my shelter,
Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have
Nothing compares to the promise I have
Nothing compares to the promise I have in you
