My Thank You Letter

It’s Christmas time. A time to give gifts. So, I wrote a check to World Vision. Money for the little girl I sponsor. And I didn’t think about it again.

Today, I got a thank you letter from Leanis. With the tiny check I sent to her, she was able to purchase the following:

  • 3 Outfits
  • 1 pair of jeans
  • 2 pairs of underwear
  • 1 towel
  • 1 blouse
  • 1 pair of tights
  • 1 tank top
  • 1 pink top
  • 1 Caribbean type top
11 articles of clothing. The letter came with a very specific breakdown of the items. It also came with two pictures of Leanis holding up the clothing, a hand drawn picture for me (so sweet) and two hand written letters. I am so touched.
Leanis spent the money with her mother in downtown, shopping together for clothes. Something my momma and I do all the time. The only difference is, we can afford the clothes. Without help form World Vision, Leanis and her family cannot. I had no idea how completely blessed I am.

In her letter, Leanis said this:

Thank you for all the gifts. I have never received so many blessings.

My tiny little gift, less than half of what I made in a week. . . . more blessings than she has ever received.

I think she is blessing me. More than she will ever know.
